I love this quote. I was reminded of it last night when we went up to see Stephanie in the hospital in Idaho Falls. Steph has Gillian Beret sydrome as of last week. She has been laying in the hospital, paralyzed from the nexk down. So last night we went up there to visit because she is finally out of the ICU. I was a little nervous to go to be honest. Not because I didnt want to see her, but because I thought i'd see her laying there and start balling my head off. (my typical response to all things sad) But when we got there Steph had the biggest smile on her face. The whole time we were there she was her normal self, cracking jokes and laughing...She was telling us about all the different times they have to wake her up during the night to change needles, or take vitals, but didnt even complain! She just laughed and said yeah you just learn to sleep through it! I was so impressed by Stephs attitude toward what was happening to her, She truly is an amazing person.

I was telling Joel on the way home, if all I could do is lay in bed (all day) and watch tv I would love it for like the first day, and then I would probably start to get depressed and feel sorry for myself. Steph said she will probably be in the hospital for atleast another 30 days, maybe more than that though. And there was no trace of negativity in her voice, at all! She just looks at everything half full. And I love her for being such a good example to me.

With this whole lawsuit thing going on ive really let myself get down about it, and feel really discouraged. Luckily Joel is more like Stephanie than I am and has really helped me to feel better about the whole situation. He said to me one day when I was being really bratty and sad about it, "Babe the worst that could happen to us is losing some money, Its only Money! Its not going to ruin our lives. We will have chance after chance to make back any money we could lose. Once the case is over, its 100% over and we dont ever have to look back." (good thing I save my texts so I cant get it worded right)

After he said this all of my worries went away. I was being so negative about the whole thing. Thinking, urgh we will lose so much money, urgh my life is over. But I guess thats why I've been blessed with such a wonderful, tender-hearted, loving husband. :)

So Ive decided that I need to be more like my beautifully amazing sister in-law Stephanie, and my awe inspiring husband. I need to stop looking at the situations life presents me with a bad attitude and start being happy and optimistic. I have been given SO much that I take for granted and I am going to start focusing on those things, rather than the bad ones.

And on a side note, Steph has started moving her arms! wahoo!!! Im so proud of her and the progress she's making- she's amazing!

Who has the worst temper? hmmmm we both do ha ha just about different things...Joels gets mad when he cant understand why I dont think Football games are important...and I get upset when...he forgets to tell me hes going to lunch. ha ha

Who does the cooking? Both, but hopefully Joel will take over now that we made that deal (see earlier posts)

Who is more social? I think Joel is, but now that we're married we're both kind of home bodies, nothing is better than snuggling in for a movie and ice cream on the weekend :)

Who wakes up earlier? depends on the day, but Joel doesnt like to sleep in late, I could sleep in untill 12

Where was your first date? Well our first-first date was a double and we got ice cream, watched the HULK and looked at the chalk drawings at the gateway. But our first alone date was AMAZING! We went on a hike up to Donut falls and had a blast! then went to my fave restaraunt PF Changs...then went back to my apartment and watched my fave movie, Just friends. Then at like 1am got into an intense indoor water bottle, wrestling match. ha ha I would pay lots of money to relive that day.

Do you get flowers often? I dont really like flowers, I mean I do but only on Valentines day or my Birthday, and hes good with that :)

Who eats more? Joel, but I eat alot too, ha ha we vacation to eat good food. its kind of sad but we love GOOD food

Who sings better? ha ha I think I do, but joel has a good boy voice :)

Who does the laundry? we both do. Ive ruined too many of joels shirts to do it by myself...(how do I know what shirts to dry and which ones to hang?) ;)

Who is better with the computer? mmm I would say me, just because I'm on it all day everyday

Who cries more? DEFINITELY ME. Joel always compares me to a 5 year old and says my first reaction to everything is to cry. ha ha I cant help it, I think I have over active tear ducts

What's your best day together? So many to choose from! our first date, our trip to Cali with his fam the summer before we got married! the day we got sealed, honeymoon, day we got Miley :)

Where did you honeymoon? Park city first, then Playa del Carmen Mexico!!

Favorite date night? either playing games with friends and family or just cuddling up watching a good movie or going to a movie. ha we should probably start being more active.

Favorite TV show to watch together? THE OFFICE! and the King of Queens, also Prison Break (so intense!)

New years resolution/ deal with my husband

So while down in Utah this past week visiting my family- We decided we need to eat better and get back into shape! Alot of this was due to the fact that my brother and his wife eat SUPER healthy and made us feel guilty :) ha ha

I HATE running, yet I want to get in shape.

I also HATE making dinner, yet love to eat.

hmmmm

So Joel made me a deal that if I get up and go running with him 4 days a week, he will make dinner 4 days a week! ha ha this was just the motivation I needed! Plus Joel is a GREAT cook- he has that common sense for cooking that I just dont have. (He must have inherited it from his mom)

So with Joel cooking healthy meals for us, and running 4 days a week- Im hoping to be back to my weight when we were dating by April.

Early Christmas

My family was here this last weekend for Christmas and it was so much fun. We pretty much just sat around and talked, but I loved it. Its been hard living here in Idaho and not being able to see my parents as often as id like. But I guess 2 hours isnt too bad. But Ive missed them and it was so good to have them over.

I finally got my act together and took some pictures for once! ha ha but they were on my phone so they're not the greatest but oh well.

My dog hates me

ha ha my dog is acting all sad and depressed because we had to shave her- she gets these mats in her hair when it gets long and every 6 months or so we have to totally shave her ha ha.

So she went from this....soft curly long whispy hair....

ha ha I think she knows that she isnt as cute with her short hair and thats why she's acting depressed. Of course just like any mamma i think she's cute either way :)

New House and New Year

So we have been super busy this past week trying to get our house done. We decided to put in all new trim and baseboards, paint almost every wall, new carpet, and new vanity in the bathroom. Doesnt sound too bad right? Ha well thats what I thought. I had this last week off of work and my mom and I spent every day from about 8am to 2am working on it. But I cant wait to move in and have everything how I want it :) Here are some midway pics I took the other night.

We had our one year anniversary on the 14th! wohoo! We took the weekend and went up to park city ( thats were we went on our honeymoon) They have a restaurant called the Hapa Grill and it was the main reason we went there ha ha the sushi is AMAZING! We also did alot of shopping and laying around the hotel watching movies. it was great! Im so thankful to be married to such an amazing man and cant wait for the years to come! Muah Love you Joel!
