Sewing Project #1

See those LaMe curtains hanging over my big pretty window??

They had to go

and who better than to help me get ride of them than my mom!

She found me my dream bed set

(and on sale! did I mention she's a master shopper too?)

So this was the beginning of the curtain making...and 2 months later-

TaDa!

I seriously could not be more happy with how it turned out

Loooove it!

I still need to get white lampshades

those kinda clash with the bedspread

Sewing Project #2

Sewing Project # 1 is finished
but I still need to find some white lampshades to complete the bedroom transformation
then I can finally reveal it! haha

So this is Sewing Project #2
This baby took almost 2 days
Without the help of my momma, it probably would have taken a year
I have this skirt that I LOVE and wear all the time
and figured it would probably be easy to copy it and make another
the easy part....not so much
BUT it is just as cute (in my opinion)

I was going for purple fabric...

but I saw this and fell in love

Doesnt it remind you of the JETSONS????

I look mad in this picture

but I was just super tired

haha it was like midnight

We made up a pattern using my original skirt

That took more time than the actual sewing

But it was worth it to get what I want

and not have to pay 17$ for a pattern at Joanns

(17 bucks! ridiculous!)

My mom is like the master sewer

I swear she could sew anything

(as you will see in sewing project #1 and soon to be #3)

She is amazing and I love her :)

This picture is the worst cuz I took it on my phone

but you can kinda see it right?

I love it!

I need a turqoise shirt so you can see the black waistband better

I cant wait until I get good enough to actually

make legit stuff by myself

My next challenge is a church bag

I have so much to blog about- but no time.

Its stupid school. I cant exactly say I hate it this time though, I actually enjoy my class.

(yes, only one.....ISU is lame and doesnt offer any classes at times I can take them! Urgh!)

But I have so many projects to post

SEWING projects!

Yes thats right I learned to sew, craziness.

I promise I will post them asap.

[happy] old year

2010 was such a good year.

I celebrated my two year anniversary with my best friend

Was lucky enough to get [another] adorable nephew

Realized what I want to be when I grow up

Discovered a love for photography

Joel got an amazing job which he loves

We both chipped away at another semester of school

Sucessfully tackled out fence project

Met life long friends

Got sued, went to court, and had the most stressful 3 hours of my entire life

Body surfed for the first time AND swam in the pacific ocean...and survived! ;)

Joel dominated the wing challege at the Wing Coop in Salt Lake
Remodeled our kitchen
Grew to love my primary calling and the kids I teach
Unearthed some culinary skills I thought did not exist
Found a way to read all the books I want with the little time I have (audiobooks)
I am sure Im leaving out a bagillion things

But I am so grateful for everything that we went through in 2010

the good and the bad

I cant wait to see what 2011 brings

Joel LOVES boise state, so naturally we had to get jack some boise swag...I think we liked it more than he did haha hence the bluriness, he just wanted to go back to the table and color
